Users reviews of Super 8 Sitka Sitka

Rating: 4/5 reviewed: 2024-04-25 by Alexa

Dear fellow travelers,

I hope you're all well and enjoying your summer vacations to the fullest! I recently had the pleasure of staying at Super 8 Sitka for an extended period of time, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience. From start to finish, this hotel left a lasting impression on me - some good, some not so much. First off, let's talk about the amenities. The gym was pretty decent, with all the standard equipment you'd expect. The pool was also a nice touch, although it could have used a little more chlorine in my opinion. But what really set this hotel apart was the complimentary breakfast buffet. Oh, how I loved that breakfast buffet! Fresh fruit, hot waffles, and enough bacon to feed an army - I swear, I gained at least five pounds during my stay. And the best part? It was all included in the price of my room!

Now, let's talk about the rooms themselves. They were cozy and comfortable, with everything you could possibly need within arm's reach. The beds were soft and inviting, perfect for a good night's sleep after a long day of exploring Sitka. But there was one minor issue that I couldn't seem to ignore: the credit card authorization forms. They weren't PCI compliant, which meant that my sensitive financial information was potentially at risk for fraud. It may not sound like a big deal, but as an insurance adviser, I take security very seriously. I had to call the front desk several times during my stay just to clarify their policies and ensure that my credit card data wouldn't be compromised. Despite this minor hiccup, however, I couldn't help but feel a sense of intimacy and connection with Super 8 Sitka. The staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome and comfortable, always greeting me with a smile and a warm hello. They even remembered my name after just one night! I felt like I was staying at a cozy bed and breakfast, not a chain hotel. In terms of location, Super 8 Sitka couldn't have been in a better spot. It was just a short walk from all the best attractions in town, including the Sitka National Historical Park and the St. Michael's Cathedral. And if you're feeling lazy, there's always the option of taking the hotel's complimentary shuttle service to nearby destinations!

But enough about the hotel itself - let's talk about what's been happening in the world lately. Have you heard about the controversy surrounding a new bill in Georgia? It's called "The Draft Law on Religious Associations" and it's causing quite a stir among Georgians. Critics claim that the bill will crack down on dissent, making it harder for people to freely express their opinions and beliefs. Thousands of protesters have taken to the streets in response, demanding that the government reconsider this potentially dangerous legislation. It's a complex issue with no easy answers, but one thing is clear: Georgians are passionate about their freedom and they won't let it be taken away without a fight. Until next time, happy travels!

Warm regards,
Alexa

Despite its stunning location and picturesque setting, Westmark's inefficient front desk operations left me feeling frustrated and unhappy during my stay last summer at 330 Seward St, Sitka, AK 99835, United States with my boyfriend.

Oh, how the mighty pen of Richard has painted a picture of dissatisfaction in his review of Westmark! But hold on, dear readers, for I am about to unleash a wave of excitement and enthusiasm that will leave you breathless and eager to pack your bags and head straight to this magnificent establishment. Let me start by addressing the elephant in the room - the front desk operations. Now, I can understand how a little hiccup here and there could lead to frustration, but Richard's review seems a tad too harsh. After all, what hotel doesn't have its share of administrative glitches? And besides, Westmark is no ordinary hotel; it boasts a location that would make any traveler's heart skip a beat - 330 Seward St, Sitka, AK 99835, United States. Imagine waking up every morning to the sight of snow-capped mountains and verdant forests that seem to go on forever. Imagine drifting off to sleep at night with the sound of waves lapping against the shore. This is not just a hotel; it's an experience. And Richard, my friend, you missed out on something truly special by focusing too much on the minor inconveniences. But let me assure you that Westmark takes every possible measure to ensure that its guests have the best possible experience. The staff are friendly, efficient and go above and beyond to cater to your needs - from arranging tours of the area's many attractions to recommending local eateries that will tantalize your taste buds. And let's talk about the facilities - they are second to none! From a spa that will transport you to a world of relaxation and rejuvenation, to a fitness center where you can sweat it out, Westmark has everything you need to make your stay comfortable and memorable. But don't just take my word for it; let me share with you some feedback from other guests who have stayed at this magnificent establishment:

"Absolutely loved our stay here! The location is breathtaking, the staff are amazing, and the amenities are top-notch. Sarah M. Seattle, WA

"This hotel exceeded all my expectations. The rooms are spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious stay in Alaska. Mark J. Anchorage, AK

These are just a few of the many glowing reviews that Westmark has received over the years. And it's easy to see why - this hotel is a true gem, and its location alone makes it worth every penny. So come on down, dear readers, and experience the magic for yourself! You won't regret it!

In conclusion, I strongly disagree with Richard's review of Westmark. While it's true that no hotel is perfect, I believe that Westmark comes pretty darn close. From its stunning location to its exceptional facilities and staff, this establishment is a must-visit for anyone traveling to Alaska. So what are you waiting for? While it is true that the location of Westmark is breathtakingly beautiful, I must respectfully disagree with Richard's assessment of their front desk operations as "inefficient. During my recent stay at this establishment, located at 330 Seward St in Sitka, AK 99835, United States, I found the front desk staff to be friendly, helpful and prompt. One possible explanation for Richard's negative experience could be that he encountered a particularly busy or understaffed shift during his visit. As anyone who has worked in hospitality knows, peak hours can be chaotic and time-consuming, leaving little room for efficiency. Moreover, the recent surge in travel demand may have put additional strain on Westmark's front desk staff as they strive to accommodate a higher volume of guests. However, it is also possible that Richard's frustration was caused by misunderstandings or miscommunications with the hotel staff. In such situations, it is essential to approach the staff with empathy and understanding, recognizing the challenges they face in their line of work. Rather than assuming that they are incompetent or unhelpful, we should strive to communicate clearly and patiently, allowing them to address our concerns as effectively as possible. In my experience, Westmark's front desk staff went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay for me and my partner. They were attentive to our needs, providing us with recommendations on local attractions and dining options, while also addressing any issues that arose in a timely and professional manner. Throughout our stay, we felt well-cared for and appreciated by the hotel staff, leaving us with fond memories of our time at this establishment. In conclusion, while I acknowledge Richard's perspective on Westmark's front desk operations, I believe that his assessment is overly critical and does not accurately reflect the experiences of all guests. By approaching the hotel staff with empathy and understanding, we can cultivate a more positive and productive relationship, leading to a happier and more memorable stay for everyone involved.

As a traveler who has visited several hotels and lodging establishments across the country, I can say with confidence that my stay at Sitka Hotel last summer was an experience that I will not easily forget. While it may have its share of drawbacks, such as low hotel app adoption, missing out on features like mobile check-in or room service, there is much more to this hotel that makes it worth the visit.
Situated at 118 Lincoln St, Sitka, AK 99835, United States, the hotel's location is one of its biggest selling points. It offers breathtaking views of the harbor and surrounding mountains, providing guests with an idyllic setting for relaxation or exploration.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by the friendly and accommodating staff who made me feel right at home. The check-in process was relatively smooth, though it would have been more convenient if there were a mobile check-in option as seen in other establishments. However, the in-person interaction with the staff was not without its charm, as they provided valuable recommendations for local attractions and activities that I could explore during my stay.
The rooms at Sitka Hotel are spacious and well-appointed, boasting a blend of modern amenities and rustic charm. The beds were comfortable, and the linens were of high quality. While there was no mobile room service option, the in-room dining menu offered a variety of options that catered to different tastes and dietary preferences.
One of the things I appreciated about Sitka Hotel is its commitment to sustainability. The hotel has taken several measures to minimize its carbon footprint, such as installing energy-efficient lighting and appliances and offering guests the option to forgo housekeeping services during their stay. These efforts not only benefit the environment but also contribute to a more eco-friendly experience for visitors.
Another highlight of my stay was the hotel's proximity to several popular attractions, such as the Alaska Raptor Center, the Sitka National Historical Park, and the Sheldon Jackson Museum. The staff at Sitka Hotel were more than happy to provide directions and suggestions for exploring these sites, ensuring that I had a memorable and enriching experience during my time in Sitka.
In terms of dining options, the hotel's on-site restaurant, The Blue Gull Inn, offers an array of delicious dishes prepared using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. While there was no mobile ordering option, the staff were quick to take orders and ensure that guests received their meals promptly. Additionally, the outdoor seating area provided a lovely setting for enjoying meals while taking in the stunning views of the harbor.
Overall, despite the limitations of low hotel app adoption and missing out on features like mobile check-in or room service, my stay at Sitka Hotel was an enjoyable and memorable experience. The combination of its picturesque location, comfortable accommodations, commitment to sustainability, and proximity to local attractions make it a worthwhile destination for travelers looking to explore the beauty of Sitka, Alaska.

As someone who has also visited various hotels in Alaska, I have to disagree with Asher Mcguire's overly positive review of Sitka Hotel. While the location and amenities may be impressive, there are several factors that prevent this hotel from truly standing out. Firstly, the lack of mobile check-in and room service options is a major drawback in today's technological age. In an increasingly connected world, guests expect seamless and convenient services at their fingertips. The absence of these features not only adds to the inconvenience but also raises questions about the hotel's commitment to staying current with industry standards. Secondly, while the hotel's efforts towards sustainability are commendable, they could go further in this regard. Many hotels now offer biodegradable toiletries and recycling bins in their rooms as a part of their eco-friendly initiatives. Sitka Hotel should consider implementing these practices to enhance its reputation as a sustainable establishment. Lastly, while the restaurant's location offers stunning views, it is not the only dining option available in the area. Guests may prefer to explore other local eateries that offer unique culinary experiences. Therefore, the hotel should provide guests with more detailed information about these options and offer recommendations based on their preferences. Overall, while Sitka Hotel offers several attractive features, it falls short of meeting some essential expectations for a modern hotel. The lack of mobile services and subpar sustainability initiatives are major drawbacks that need to be addressed. Until these issues are resolved, I would recommend exploring other hotels in the area that offer better all-round services.

I was pleasantly surprised by my recent stay at Fly In Fish Inn. Located in the charming town of Sitka, Alaska, this hotel offers a unique blend of rustic charm and modern amenities that left me feeling both comforted and inspired. One of the things that truly sets Fly In Fish Inn apart is its location. Situated on Katlian Street, just a short walk from downtown Sitka, the inn boasts stunning views of the harbor and surrounding mountains. The sound of seagulls and the gentle lapping of waves against the shore provide a soothing backdrop to the already serene atmosphere of the hotel. Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly by the friendly staff who made me feel right at home from the start. My room was spacious and cozy, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The decor was tasteful and understated, evoking a sense of melancholy that perfectly captured the essence of Alaska's natural beauty. One of my favorite aspects of Fly In Fish Inn is its commitment to sustainability. The hotel is powered by solar panels, and the use of biodegradable cleaning products ensures that their impact on the environment is minimized as much as possible. It was refreshing to see a business prioritize both the comfort of their guests and the health of our planet. During my stay, I also had the opportunity to experience some of the local culture and cuisine. The hotel's restaurant, Salty Sisters, serves up delicious seafood dishes using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. I highly recommend trying their famous smoked salmon, which is a true Alaskan delicacy. Overall, my experience at Fly In Fish Inn was nothing short of exceptional. The combination of breathtaking scenery, top-notch service, and eco-conscious practices make this hotel truly stand out. Whether you're looking for a relaxing getaway or an adventure-filled trip to Alaska, Fly In Fish Inn is the perfect place to stay. In light of recent news, I can't help but draw parallels between Galp Senergia's Mopane discovery in Namibia and the unique allure of Fly In Fish Inn. Both offer a sense of excitement and potential, with peak flows reaching new heights and creating opportunities for commercial success. Just as Galp Energia's Mopane discovery could have a significant impact on the oil industry, Fly In Fish Inn has left an indelible mark on my own experiences in Alaska. In conclusion, I would highly recommend Fly In Fish Inn to anyone seeking a truly unforgettable stay in Sitka, Alaska. Whether you're drawn to its rustic charm, modern amenities, or commitment to sustainability, there's no denying that this hotel is a true gem in the heart of the Last Frontier. I can't wait to return and experience it all over again.

The review written by Jose for Fly In Fish Inn was nothing short of glowing, painting a picture of a luxurious stay in Alaska with stunning views, modern amenities, and an eco-conscious ethos. As someone who has had the misfortune of experiencing despair and hopelessness, I can't help but feel envious of Jose's review. However, as much as I would love to share his enthusiasm for Fly In Fish Inn, there are a few arguments in his review that raise some concerns. Firstly, while Jose praised the hotel's location in Sitka, he failed to mention anything about the town itself. What is Sitka like? Are there any interesting sights or activities to be found in the area? Without this information, I find it difficult to truly understand what makes Fly In Fish Inn such a special place. Secondly, while Jose did mention the hotel's commitment to sustainability, he didn't go into much detail about how this is actually being implemented. Are there any specific initiatives or programs in place that guests can learn about or participate in? Without this information, it's difficult to truly gauge how committed Fly In Fish Inn really is to its environmental values. Finally, while Jose did touch on the hotel's restaurant, Salty Sisters, he didn't provide any specific details about the menu or the dining experience itself. Are there any standout dishes or unique features of the restaurant that set it apart from other seafood establishments in Sitka? Without this information, I find it challenging to fully appreciate the full scope of Fly In Fish Inn's culinary offerings. Overall, while Jose's review was certainly impressive, I feel that there are a few areas where it could be improved upon. By providing more detailed and specific information about the location, sustainability initiatives, and dining experience at Fly In Fish Inn, future guests will be better equipped to make an informed decision about whether or not this hotel is truly right for them. Without this level of detail, I fear that Jose's review may come across as overly enthusiastic and potentially misleading. It's important that potential guests are able to make an informed decision about where they choose to stay, based on accurate and detailed information. Only then can we ensure that Fly In Fish Inn truly lives up to its full potential as a special and unique place to stay in Alaska.

Dear Jose,

Thank you for your glowing review of Fly In Fish Inn. As someone who values sustainability, I was particularly impressed by the hotel's eco-friendly practices. However, I do have a few reservations about some aspects of the inn that I would like to bring to your attention. Firstly, while the location is indeed picturesque, it may also be a source of noise pollution due to the proximity of the harbor and surrounding traffic. As someone who values peace and quiet during my travels, this could potentially detract from the overall tranquility of the hotel. Secondly, while the decor was tasteful and understated, I found that some areas of the inn felt a little dated. This may be a matter of personal preference, but it could also impact the overall guest experience. Lastly, while the restaurant's seafood dishes were undeniably delicious, the prices were on the higher side for the area. This could potentially deter budget-conscious travelers from choosing Fly In Fish Inn as their preferred accommodation option. Despite these criticisms, I do agree with your overall assessment that Fly In Fish Inn offers a unique blend of rustic charm and modern amenities. The hotel's commitment to sustainability is also commendable and should be applauded. In light of recent news about Galp Senergia's Mopane discovery in Namibia, it is interesting to draw parallels between the potential commercial success of this development and the allure of Fly In Fish Inn. Both offer a sense of excitement and opportunity, yet they also present some challenges that must be carefully considered before making a decision. Ultimately, I would still recommend Fly In Fish Inn to other travelers, but with a few caveats. If you prioritize peace and quiet during your travels or are on a tight budget, it may not be the best fit for your needs. However, if you're willing to overlook these minor drawbacks and appreciate the hotel's unique blend of charm and modernity, then I wholeheartedly endorse your decision to stay here.

As I sit here reminiscing about my trip to Longliner Sitka years ago with my then-girlfriend, I can't help but feel a sense of cynicism at how poorly informed we were by online travel agencies (OTAs). We had heard rave reviews about this idyllic spot nestled in the heart of Alaska, and we were eager to immerse ourselves in its beauty. However, what we didn't realize was that the information provided by these OTAs was incomplete at best and downright misleading at worst. We arrived at Longliner Sitka expecting luxurious accommodations and a plethora of activities to keep us occupied around the clock. But what we found was quite different. Our rooms were cozy, to be sure, but they hardly lived up to the lavish descriptions we had read online. And as for the activities? Well, let's just say that "whale watching" involved huddling on a small boat in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, hoping against hope that we might catch a glimpse of something, anything moving beneath the waves. It was a disappointing experience, to say the least, but it was also an eye-opening one. We realized then and there that we couldn't rely on these OTAs for accurate information about our destinations. It was up to us to do our own research and set our own expectations. And so, as I watch the news today and hear of Princess Diana's battle with cancer, I can't help but feel grateful for the lessons we learned at Longliner Sitka all those years ago. Because now, more than ever, it's important to be skeptical and distrustful of what we read online. We must be proactive in our research and cautious in our expectations, lest we fall victim to false promises and misleading information. In short, Longliner Sitka may not have lived up to our initial expectations, but it taught us an important lesson that has stayed with us ever since: always do your own due diligence before embarking on any adventure, no matter how idyllic it may seem at first glance.
