The staff made check-in a breeze, my room was cozy with a city view, and the location made exploring easy by foot or public transport. This puts both myself and the hotel at risk for potential fraud and data breaches. As a company handling sensitive financial information, it is imperative that they take every necessary precaution to protect their guests' data. Unfortunately, my experience at Hyatt Place St. Paul/Downtown fell short in this regard. This incident occurred over a week ago, and as I write this review today, I am disheartened to learn of another regulatory battle involving a major corporation. The Denver judge has set an August showdown for Colorado's crusade against Kroger-Albertsons megamerger, just two weeks before the FTC and other states join the fight over price hike fears. It seems that corporations like Kroger and Albertsons are constantly pushing boundaries and disregarding regulatory guidelines in their pursuit of profit. As a consumer and a professional, I demand better from these companies. It is my hope that Hyatt Place St. Paul/Downtown will take immediate action to address their PCI compliance shortcomings and ensure the protection of their guests' sensitive financial information. Until then, I am unable to recommend this hotel to others, as I cannot in good faith put them at risk for potential fraud or data breaches.
